Hello. The work is progressing well on the Kotava project. Currently there are more than 1000 articles, with quite a few having satisfactory content, and 7 active contributors.

I would like to have the test-adminship rights to be able to act on several general functions and to coordinate the continuation. Thank you. --Axel xadolik (talk) 09:21, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I hereby request to be an administrator on Igbo Wiktionary. I am the head of studies Igbo language department at Federal Government Girls College Buhari Abuja. I am also a contributor in Igbo language test wiktionary and also a founding member of Igbo Wikimedians User Group. Please grant me this opportunity as I have all the neccessary requirements. --Oby Ezeilo (talk) 14:24, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. Your language qualifications are good, and you are contributing well so far. But you have fewer than 100 contributions on Incubator, and fewer than 200 on all Wikimedia projects combined. That is really a little low for us to give you administrator rights. We need to make sure you understand not only the content material you are creating, but in general how things work around here. So I'm going to suggest you continue to contribute here, and then come back and request again around 1 April 2019, and we'll see where things stand. StevenJ81 (talk) 19:05, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The community requested me to contribute as Test Admin in this test wiki, I working on Pakistani wikis, please grant me Test Adminship so that I'll help the shina language community. thanks --RAChitrali 06:22, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It would be supercool if the community could express its support here. --MF-W {a, b} 10:19, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MF-Warburg: I have started working on Shina Wiki main page, and translating pages into Shina, I am creating templates, categories, modules, Infoboxes and other technical work for shina community, if they vote and support then approve my test adminship, I conveyed you message to the community. Regards --RAChitrali 04:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I think it would be supercool if Rachitrali had actually learned after all this time on Incubator how to format a request here. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:19, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That would be quite an achievement! --MF-W {a, b} 08:32, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@G.r.wilayaty: On your request I have created Shina Wiki page, and translated articles into shina, if the shina community are not interested for my Test Adminship in this wiki, I am withdrawing my nomination. BTW in your Language wiki there is less than articles i.e. 50, As you know I am extremely busy in Khowar Wiki, I am only supporting the language communities in Pakistan to translate, localize and create wikis in their language, please give you comments regarding my nominations, otherwise I request @MF-Warburg: and @StevenJ81: for withdrawal of my nomination for Test admin in Shina Wiki. Mr.@MF-Warburg: and Mr.@StevenJ81: if no reply received with 7 days please withdraw my nomination. thanks --RAChitrali 09:45, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I will add Wp/scl to the test portfolio of User:Rachitrali. (Note that there will be no logged rights change for this.) This will be aligned with the rest of the advanced rights that Rachitrali holds, so will expire on 2019-03-09. At that time, all rights that he holds will be eligible for renewal for one full year. Hello, I wrote to you few months ago because I wanted to be in the team of the administrators of the Algerian Wikipedia Incubator, you told me to come back in February (I didn't find the old discussion between us), so we are the first day of february, how can I do to be in the administrator team? Thank you. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kellybundy (discussioncontribs) 10:11, 1 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

The previous request was on 4 December, and you stopped editing on 9 December and returned today. Do you not want to focus on content work first? --MF-W {a, b} 11:59, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I understand, but the problem is that the project is very badly organized, and all the people I contact don't want to work on it because it's too much disorganized. So I just want to re-organise pages and add a lot of very important recent templates (like references) for move forward in the project. The actual administrator don't do anything, I wish he did something but he don't so why why he monopolizes the project? we do not move forward. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kellybundy (discussioncontribs) 13:44, 1 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

  • Please sign your posts.
  • A lot of this project is being run out of the university in Chlef, so the administrators tend to be more active when the students are more active, and less active when the students are less active. And when I asked you to come back in February, it was on the assumption that you would be actively creating content in the meantime—not that you would disappear for two months and then come back.
I'll defer to your judgment, @MF-Warburg, on this. If I had a choice, I'd like to see @Kellybundy be active creating content for a month or two first. But I appreciate that some people prefer to work on structure, and maybe that's OK here. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:41, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok Steven, I understand your opinion and I'm agree with you, I don't really really want to be administrator, I prefer writting, it's a pleasur for me to write. So, can you, at least, supress the duplicates article that I have selected and actualise some templates (for example, give use the modern and actual templates like the english version). Can you do that or it's not your field of responsibilityes? For personnal intelectual reasons, it's very difficult for me to write in anarchical structure, but I will make efforts. Thank you for all your answers and your presence.
Kellybundy — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kellybundy (discussioncontribs) 10:52, 2 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]
If there is a need for administrative actions, I am not against it - I was mainly wondering if the priorities shouldn't be elsewhere. But if there is a situation to clean up, nothing speaks against test-admin rights for me (PS: please sign your posts using 4 tildes: ~~~~, which adds the date and time as well). --MF-W {a, b} 13:39, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, can you just clean it? i'have already add the "supress option" and rename all wrong pages with french name "à supprimer", and I'll add another duplicates to supress because there is a lot of it. It's so difficult for me to write when there is a lot of duplicates (sometimes the same subject have 2 or 3 or 4 pages, so I just want to create one only page for each subject, it's more clear and easyier to make internal links). (sorry for my bad english, i'm a french-arabic speaker). Kellybundy Kellybundy (talk) 14:40, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's always easier if a speaker of the language cleans it up ;) --MF-W {a, b} 11:14, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
StevenJ81 (talk) 15:00, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kellybundy Hello Steven, thank you for your work :) Just a last question, is it normal all the redirections in green in this list? Special:PrefixIndex/Wp/arq I Think I made a mistake with redirections..... I'll read and learn about redirection to do not make the same mistake. Thanks a lot, the project is cleaner and I can write now. Kellybundy (talk) 11:16, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Redirections are automatic when you move pages, so, yes, it's normal. You did not do anything wrong. Administrators (and test-sysops) can prevent the creation of redirects, so when we move large numbers of pages we do not need to create redirections.
In general, we can remove them. I could even make you a test-sysop to do that. But here is how you need to do it:
  1. One by one, go to each redirection page.
  2. On each page, click the link What links here.
  3. If something links to the redirection page, go to that page, and change it, so that it points to the new target page.
  4. Once nothing links to the redirection page, you can delete it.
Or ... just leave them. See en:WP:Redirects are cheap—there is no harm in letting them stay. And in any case, it may be better to stop with the administrative tasks for a while and just do some writing, and then go back to those later. It's up to you. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:13, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done I see you've gotten busy with content here. So I'm going to go ahead and say yes. Your rights will expire 2020-02-15.
Bonne chance. Hi I would like to be the Test administrator for the test Nqo Wikipedia for the following reasons : We are Having a lot of new contributors who don't master the incubator interface and sometimes creating new titles with a long sentence. Youssoufkadialy

Not yet. You only have 144 total edits here, and almost no experience on any other Wikimedia wiki. We normally want people to have more experience than that before giving them administrator tools. Please continue to contribute content for another 4–6 weeks, then ask again. StevenJ81 (talk) 23:17, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: I would like to be the admin of Wn/cpx and Wn/lzh so that I can do my work better. Thank you. Btw, if I need to delete some wrong titles over AutoWikiBrowser, should I required for a robot account? Davidzdh (talk) 11:35, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Standard five-day hold for comments. Assuming there are no problems, we'll add these two projects to your portfolio, and then all three will expire on your original rights expiration date, which is in September. After that, in the future, all will run on parallel one-year terms.
If you feel you would like an alternative bot account, you can create one, and don't need our permission to do that. If you want the bot right, you do need to get approval for that. But if all you are going to do with that is a one-time cleanup of titles, then the bot right is probably not necessary. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:51, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I am going to strongly discourage you from taking Wn/lzh any further. Wikisource projects in historical languages are allowed. Wikipedia projects in historical languages are the subject of some debate now in LangCom, but at most will only be allowed sometimes, under very particular circumstances. Wikinews and Wikivoyage projects in historical languages are just not going to be approved in any reasonable time frame that I can see, if ever. I would strongly encourage you not to waste time on that. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:56, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. I see you have experience on several WMF projects. But only 68 edits here is a little thin for this. If you have 200 edits here by May 1, come back, and you will likely pass. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:51, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: Я хотел бы, чтобы рассмотрели мой запрос по поводу тест-администратора Wp/kjh, заранее благодарю. Андрей Саг. (talk) 20:15, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Changing section titles to Russian and changing title levels on a page like this are not a good way to convince me that you know enough to be a test administrator here. Still, you are generally eligible, and so is your test. So I will leave this request open for the standard period of five days for community comment. StevenJ81 (talk) 17:25, 14 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Muhraz:, @StevenJ81:, I would like to apply as test wiki admin for Wp/ban because I will make a community of contributors based on Bali for Balinese language that need to have administrator for that. Thank you for the opportunity. Joseagush (talk) 05:15, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Joseagush: Project is eligible. Personally, your eligibility is a little bit borderline.
  • On one hand, you are an experienced Wikipedian (at idwiki), and also have nearly 500 edits here already. So I think you're committed to what we do here.
  • On the other hand, after a brief participation here in October 2018, you have now been here and seriously working on the Bali project for only three weeks. Usually, we'd like to see you around a little longer before you become a test-admin.
So here's what I think we're going to do. First, I want you to read about prefixes at I:PREFIX. Respond here to me that you have done that, and that you really understand how prefixes work. After that, I will start a five-day clock for comments from the community. If there are no objections at that point, I'll go ahead and approve. Is that reasonable? StevenJ81 (talk) 14:18, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @StevenJ81:, thanks for the replay, just read and understand the I:PREFIX. I am fast learner by doing. You can see that from my contribution well here. Thank you for the opportunity. I will try to usw my privilege well.Joseagush (talk) 15:00, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, then. Standard five days (from now) for community comment. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:38, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can endorse Joseagush's adminship for ban.wp. He is a Bali resident and experienced user at id.wp. The project has been more or less vacuum for past three years (despite efforts to pave its way out of the Incubator on LangCamp seven years ago), and I think it would be good for someone to look after it and try to build an active Balinese contributor base.   Not yet. I have no doubt that you have the language skills and editing skills to do this successfully. And it's very helpful to me that members of your community have come here to support you. Still, you haven't been here, or on any other Wikimedia wiki, very long. The bureaucrats are reluctant to give administrator tools to people without experience, especially when the lack of experience becomes obvious. (Simple example: you didn't sign your original post here with four tildes (~~~~).) Continue to be active through May the way you were in April and I will probably say yes. But do look at the rules and practices here and on more established Wikipedias, so that you understand some of the rules of the road here. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:49, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: Please answer me, I want to make one good project named Georgian Wikinews which has more than 100 (108) articles, when I start work there was only 50. And you think I can't do my job good because I am blocked in three wikiprojects?--ჯეო (talk) 17:02, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ჯეო: If you are asking StevenJ81 to grant you the rights, you need to wait until 8th June provided no other objections are being made by other wikipedians. Adithyak1997 (talk) 17:07, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Adithyak1997: That's my birthday (8th June) :)--ჯეო (talk) 17:11, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ჯეო: I have a few comments:
  • I wonder why you need these rights. You have not put in a request for page deletions. You have not requested that any protected pages be edited. You have not requested anything be placed in MediaWiki namespace. Overall, you have not done anything here suggesting why you even need these rights. Am I missing something?
  • 100 pages is not going to be enough content to get this turned into an independent project. The smallest independent Wikinews project that is still open has 250 pages. And at that, your pages are not very well developed yet.
  • A test project community needs more than one contributor in order to be approved as an independent project. You must recruit others to work with you on this project, or it will never be approved, no matter how big or good you make it. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:22, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Waiting for an answer ... StevenJ81 (talk) 13:41, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: Yep, you miss, I am only one active user, I want to make tags and defence them because they will be important. And second I didn't said that I will open it at next week, I say in 7-8 months or 1 year, and active users will be much in this project--ჯეო (talk) 16:10, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ჯეო: You're doing fine so far. Is there something you haven't been able to do yet because you aren't an administrator? StevenJ81 (talk) 18:22, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: Nope, but It will be, so it isn't wrong to I become administrator--ჯეო (talk) 18:24, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@StevenJ81: There are 122 articles, now. And I am not working? and I don't need status? Yes I need it, because I am only one active user now, but there are many active users in Georgian wikiprojects, so I will call them later--ჯეო (talk) 12:16, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not right now. You are working, and you're doing a good job. That's not the question here. The question is whether you need the extra rights of a test-administrator. So far, I don't see a need for it. You haven't asked the administrators to do anything that requires administrator rights, so why would you need them? That's especially true if you're the only contributor for now; it's not as if someone else is coming in and creating bad content that you need to address. When there are more contributors here, and when you are more regularly needing administrator-level rights for things like page deletions and blocks, the bureaucrats will be happy to reconsider. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:55, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81:, I am working on Saraiki language Wikipedia projects since September 2018, including Saraiki wiki books, wiki voyage, wiki quote and Saraiki Wiktionary projects . I made more hundred pages . I request you please give me test adminship for Saraiki Wikipedia and Saraiki Wikitionary. I shall be grateful to you. Malik M Ramzan Arain (talk) 09:07, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In principle, user and tests are eligible, and I'll start a standard five-day hold here for comments. But please understand a few things before the bureaucrats say yes:
  • The Urdu section here was unnecessary. As a rule business is done on this page in English, and adding the Urdu part just gave me something else to check.
  • You deleted everything below this point on the page when you saved it. When something like that happens, it makes me wonder how careful you are in editing pages, and whether there will be a problem—even by accident—if I give you the test-admin tools.
Thank you in advance for answering those points. StevenJ81 (talk) 20:35, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user is hard worker. He had worked in tests with keen interest. If he is made admin. it will be more beneficial for our projects. I think that he did something wrong due to some fault in his browser. The deletions were made for some mistakes. Sraiki (talk) 11:39, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in becoming a Test admin in Moroccan Arabic Wikipedia. I want to bypass the creation of redirects from source pages when moving pages because there is a problem that some pages has name written in latin alphabits example & the same content in another page with name written in arabic alphabits example, so I can make the work more organized.--SADIQUI (talk) 22:23, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. As a general rule, we'd want you to be around a little longer and have made more contributions on Incubator before making you a test-admin, even though you have experience at Arabic Wikipedia. I think that around 1 November, if you have made at least 200 edits to your test project, we will consider a new request. In the meantime, if you want to have some the current redirects deleted, mark them with {{delete}} and we will take care of them.
  • Also: I strongly recommend you contact people active in the Algerian and Tunisian test projects. There is some thought that these might eventually combine into a sort of "Maghrebi" test. And the Tunisian test does contain Latin-alphabet content. There are examples of independent Wikipedias using more than one script. (See Serbian Wikipedia and Ladino Wikipedia for two completely different ways to do this.) Before you immediately change all content to Arabic script, make sure that anyone else currently working on the Moroccan project (if anyone) is OK with that, or whether they think both alphabet systems should be allowed. Short-term extension of Mon Wikipedia test admins (Wp/mnw)

Mon Wikipedia was recently approved, and its wiki is awaiting creation. Until creation is finished, on my initiative, I am extending the test-admin rights for User:Htawmonzel for 30 days, effective immediately. I will continue to do that every 30 days until the test is created. I will do similarly for User:Aue Nai when that user's rights expire on 12 November, again for 30 days at a time. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:37, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Creation is now finished. I will let User:Aue Nai's rights expire naturally on 12 November, and will remove User:Htawmonzel's rights on the same day. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:26, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StevenJ81: I am interested in becoming a test admin in Moroccan Arabic Wikipedia. This is my 2nd request after the first one a month ago.--SADIQUI (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About your suggestions concerning Magheribi Wikipedia, I think it's a bad idea. Personally I understand Algerian & Tunisian Arabic with a such difficulty especially when they introduce some frensh words or when they speak quickly. By the way, Moroccan Arabic have some words from Spanish which doesn't exist in Algerian & Tunisian (for ex: صباط (Sbbat) from Zapatos means Shoe).--SADIQUI (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Concerning the script used in writing. I agreed with Ayoub El Wardi (another active user in wp/ary) to write with arabic script. I think it's the best choice.--SADIQUI (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Standard hold of five days for community comments.
Concerning which script to use, that's up to the participants in the community.
This is not the place for a detailed discussion of the idea of a combined Maghrebi project. Don't worry about that right now. I will add a further comment on your talk page. StevenJ81 (talk) 17:18, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
