Request to delete Template:Wp/zgh/Infobox ⵜⵉⵖⵔⵎⵜ edit

Does this exist somewhere else? Why do you want to delete it? StevenJ81 (talk) 14:23, 13 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

StevenJ81 Hi sir, yes there is the same page Template:Wp/zgh/ⵜⴰⴼⵍⵓⵖⵎⵉⵙⵜ ⵜⴰⵎⴷⵉⵏⵜ. Brahim-essaidi (talk) 15:19, 13 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

OK. Next time, (a) Include that as the reason to request the deletion, and (b) place the {{delete}} template above the existing content instead of erasing the existing content. Thanks. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:28, 13 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ok. Thanks StevenJ81 — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brahim-essaidi (discussioncontribs) 17:03, 13 November 2017 (UTC).Reply

Wp/ber edit

The code ber is an ISO 639–2/–5 code for a "collection" of languages. While there are some grandfathered projects that exist under some language codes like that, current policy does not allow them.

There has been no material work on the project since 2012. I'd like to understand what is really here and what language it is really written in. I'd like to move anything you might see as useful to the test project in the language in which it is written, then delete everything else. If you'd be willing to have a look at what's here, I'd greatly appreciate it. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:34, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much! Page copied. StevenJ81 (talk) 20:43, 19 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

What do we need to do for the Wp/zgh and Wp/shi tests to be approved? edit

  • @StevenJ81 you're welcomed sir. I would want to know what we still need to do for the wp/zgh and wp/Shi tests to be approved? Brahim-essaidi (talk) 21:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Those projects both have a decent amount of content, but there are still many other things to do.
    • Most of all, for any project to be approved, it needs to have an active community. And that means, at minimum, that every single month, there must be at least three registered editors making at least ten edits on each individual project. One of the big reasons I asked the questions that I did on the other page is because of this requirement. If everyone were working on a single project, then it wouldn't dilute the effort as much. You'd be more likely to meet the requirement if everyone worked on zgh, say, than if some people work on zgh, some on shi, some on tzm, and so forth.
    • Similarly, there needs to be interface translation done. Start with this page, as well as the similar page for shi. At minimum, every message in this group, and at least 13% of the total "Core MediaWiki messages" must be translated for each language to be approved. Again, if everyone works on one of these at a time, it makes things go faster.
    • Beyond that, keep adding content. The more content the better—and at least half the pages have to be more than stubs.
Start with that and let me know if you have any questions. StevenJ81 (talk) 18:30, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wp/tzm in general, and specifically Wp/tzm/ⵉⵎⴳⵔⴰⴷⵏ edit

Starting to work on the problem you brought to my attention. But what is this page listing? StevenJ81 (talk) 11:01, 26 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • @StevenJ81 Thank you. this page as mentioned in its title (wp/tzm/Articles), it supposed to list articles in wp/tzm. This user changed its function, I fixed it, but an anonymous changed it again. Now, I fix it aggan. You can prtect it if it is necessary.

Page deletion (without leaving redirect) edit

You need to be careful about this. You have left a couple of broken redirects behind; see Special:BrokenRedirects. (Please fix them.) Always check pages you are about to delete for incoming links (using Special:WhatLinksHere—for example, Special:WhatLinksHere/Wp/zgh/ⴰⵖⵔⴼ_ⴰⴽⴰⵣⴰⵅⵉ and make sure that all incoming links are fixed. Alternatively, just leave redirects behind. Then double-redirects will automatically be fixed by a bot. Then a week later delete the page you want to delete. Need a check on something edit

Please check Special:Contributions/ There is a page deletion request here, with the explanation written in a script I can't read. If you're satisfied, you can delete the page. If not, make sure the IP's contributions are acceptable, and respond appropriately. Thanks. StevenJ81 (talk) 17:58, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@StevenJ81: the page shouldn't be deleted or moved.
This anonymous user has two accounts first and second but he acts without them. --Brahim-essaidi (talk) 20:16, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
You would be within your rights to block the user for multiple-account abuse, and I would support you if you did that. If you want to do that:
  • Block the IP address for a week
  • Block the primary account for a week
  • Indef the second account
  • Put a notice on the talk page of the primary account
StevenJ81 (talk) 22:16, 1 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@StevenJ81: I blocked the IP address and the primary account for a week, but I don't know how to indef the second account? And what if he uses other IP addresses? --Brahim-essaidi (talk) 00:02, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
"Indef" means to block with an expiration time of "indefinite".
If he uses a different IP, block it for a month. After that, block IPs 3 months at a time. We don't usually block IPs for longer unless they are known to be static IP addresses, because after a while the troublemaker moves on and the block only serves to prevent legitimate users from contributing. Quiet request for help edit

@Reda Kerbouche: Hi, both: I don't know quite how similar the Tamazight languages really are. But there is a user called Faridatcemlulaqbayli (intentionally not linked), whose account opened here a little under six years ago, but who made no edits here. All of a sudden, the person appeared today, and has made many edits and created a bunch of translation pages. (See Special:Contributions/Faridatcemlulaqbayli.) My question is: is this legitimate content, or is this content that should be deleted? Thanks. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:42, 12 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

@StevenJ81: the translation is in Kabyle. Our group will correct translation if there are a mistake.--Reda Kerbouche (talk) 05:47, 13 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Reda Kerbouche: Thank you very much for that. I wasn't aware of the user group, by the way, but now that I am, I'll add a link at Category:Incubator:Test wikis/Berber-Amazigh tests.
That said, can someone address this? StevenJ81 (talk) 13:48, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Translation request edit

Hi! How are you? I would like to ask you whether you could translate this text to Standard Moroccan Tamazight?

  • Lingua Franca Nova (“Elefen”) is a language designed to be particularly simple, consistent, and easy to learn for international communications. It has a number of positive qualities:
  • 1. It has a limited number of phonemes. It sounds similar to Italian or Spanish.
  • 2. It is phonetically spelled. No child should have to spend years learning irregularities.
  • 3. It has a completely regular grammar, similar to the world’s creoles.
  • 4. It has a limited and completely regular set of productive affixes for routine word derivation.
  • 5. It has well-defined rules for word order, in keeping with many major languages.
  • 6. Its vocabulary is strongly rooted in modern Romance languages. These languages are themselves widespread and influential, plus they have contributed the major part of English vocabulary
  • 7. It is designed to be naturally accepting of Latin and Greek technical neologisms, the de facto “world standard”.
  • 8. It is designed to seem relatively “natural” to those who are familiar with Romance languages, without being any more difficult for others to learn.
  • We hope you like Elefen!
