Edit (Wp/wym/Kosowo)

The article is about the state, and many pages you removed are also about the state. In fact most wikis only seem to have one article for both. --MF-W {a, b} 18:58, 15 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Eh... I see, it's really difficult... But I just think that interwikis to this page contained on the appropriate Wikidata page are good for now, and if we'll add some more (even if they are correct), we might have problems with these links when the project will be created. So... --Midnight Gambler (talk) 19:07, 15 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Categories

Hi Midnight Gambler, from my point of view it makes no sense at all to have all articles in the main category. The category system has to function like a tree.

To display all articles one can use: Special:PrefixIndex/Wp/vmf/ . --Steggalfiisch (talk) 13:18, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yesterday the Wp/vmf has 151 articles. When ya removed a category from one of the pages, the counter began to show 150.
About your link: well use it, I wanna see a result. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 14:08, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
The reason for that: I removed an article category from a user talk page. And now this user talk page is not counted any more as an article: see here --Bua333 (talk) 15:53, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
What do you actually mean? We talking about articles, not talk pages. (Eh, I've understood, but my edit (with adding a counter) is done later than your one, so with these talk page the counter could show 152) I believe the main category is strongly necessary for all articles on test projects. When your wiki will be opened, you can (even should) remove this one everywhere. This is not my whim: the main cat-s are on test articles almost everywhere. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 16:19, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
You are right, the main category is necessary, but Steggalfisch is right too. Can you explain, why an article, which is in a subcategory, should be in the main category too. I never saw that on any Wikipedia (except as a failure), but I'm not used to incubator. It wouldn't make any sense to me, but maybe I miss a point.
Lets try it, we delete the unessecary cats and then we see. If I'm wrong I will correct myself. --Bua333 (talk) 17:14, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
This category is need on Incubator only (that's why you've never seen the same categories on actual wikis). The counter (which I added on the main page yesterday) should count the pages in Category:Wp/vmf. Mostly it can be the only way to see how much articles are in test wiki.
As for Special:PrefixIndex/Wp/vmf/ — this is showing all pages with prefix "Wp/vmf"; not only articles, but also redirects. Even if it's possible to use this page, I'm not sure we will be happy to see the total number of articles and redirects. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 17:32, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
In any case, we should remove the main category from the talk/user pages. I can help with it right now. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 17:35, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I see your point. If there is no other way to count the articles, you are right. --Bua333 (talk) 18:04, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Let me ask on Community Portal, maybe experienced users know another ways to count the pages. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 18:08, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Done. BTW I've also removed the main category from here and here. So, the current number of our articles is 147 + 2 (without category:wp/vmf) - 7 templates = total 142 articles. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 18:18, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think I found a solution. This is the normal counter. It works: 296 --Bua333 (talk) 18:23, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Did you see its script? it's similar to mine :) --Midnight Gambler (talk) 18:29, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
you are right Midnight Gambler. I'll remove my cat edits. --Bua333 (talk) 18:33, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
and I have to say thanks for your support --Bua333 (talk) 18:48, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Don't mention it... I created {{Wp/vmf/Maincat}} - just put it in the end of an article instead of category - and no problem. :) --Midnight Gambler (talk) 18:57, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Eh... wait for my response, only 5 min, OK?.. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 07:29, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. There was nothing special, I'm glad I could help you.
If you want to speed up the process of approval of lrc.wiki, you should be active in your project for about half a year. It also would be OK if there are will be at least 3 active contributors (users who do more than 10 edits per mounth).
And (it's necessary) you should translate 500 most-used system messages for your future wiki. Now I don't see a page for Luri language on translatewiki.net, but you may ask here for help. Best regards, --Midnight Gambler (talk) 07:35, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Then ask experienced users of TranslateWiki, they may help and tell you what to do next. So I don't know what to tell you about this... --Midnight Gambler (talk) 16:04, 23 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the welcome!

Hello!

Thanks for your welcome. I'll try to help as much as I can; unfortunately I don't speak Lower Silesian, or even German for that matter, so there isn't that much that I can do. However, I am a native speaker of both Polish and English, and I have a great interest in the minority languages of Poland, so I will try to add as much as I can, and hopefully it will help to make this Wikipedia official! Sonitus (talk) 23:09, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Eh, great... Actually I don't speak Lower Silesian too and also weakly understand High German and Polish, so I have the same problem. But at least something is better than nothing at all. :)
(Just for note that every active user should contribute at least 10—11 edits per month to keep the wiki active... I think it's easy). --Midnight Gambler (talk) 23:19, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

--Child of Garrett (talk) 09:30, 22 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

--Midnight Gambler (talk) 10:20, 22 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Поправка - 1604 года, старорусскую версию просто скопипастил и перевел. О древнегреческой википедии - древнегреческий мало кто знает + специализации на определенном диалекте нет. --Чадо Гаррѣта (talk)

Categories 2

  1. Please don't add categories to Wy/zh directly using HotCat, 'cause the main navigator should be Breadcrumb. Instead, please use Template:Wy/zh/tl.
  2. from my point of view it makes no sense at all to have all articles in the main category. The category system has to function like a tree. --Steggalfiisch (talk) 13:18, 7 August 2013 (UTC) For Wy/zh the problem you mentioned isn't really a problem. We have Template:Wy/zh/tl to solve that. But rather, it makes 1418 almost meanless edits. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 10:16, 22 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Some stroopwafels for you ;)

Hi Midnight Gambler, I'm translating Wp/vmf/Wigibedia:Translations (finishing probably tomorrow).

Is this the last thing before take off ;)

or what else do we have to do? --Steggalfiisch (talk) 20:37, 16 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. That's wonderful, thank you for translations. Now 85% of core messages is translated, I'll end with their publishing tomorrow.
Honestly I don't know what else. I left a message here, but no one responds, it even made me nervous. (V_V) --Midnight Gambler (talk) 20:56, 16 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid, we have to translate more:
https://toolserver.org/~robin/?tool=codelookup&code=vmf (see localization)
--Steggalfiisch (talk) 05:07, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
500 most-used ones are enough at this stage. Of course, we should strive to translate more, but that's not strongly necessary to do right now. --Midnight Gambler (talk) 12:55, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wt/pms

Hi! Thanks for your contributions to Wt/pms! I temporarily removed the links you added for non-piedmontese words, since what will be their organization is by now not clear. We should probably re-think it when the project will be approved. Borichèt (talk) 11:30, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

I understand you. About the approval... we should find at least one more native speaker for Wt/pms who will be active in there, and then we can count on creation of your wiki. Surely you know someone. Regards, --Midnight Gambler (talk) 16:13, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mogoeilor (talk) 04:30, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I hope you understand that it doesn't depend on me: I'm not an administrator neither in MetaWiki nor in Incubator.
Do you want to know my opinion? Surely it could be verified... --Midnight Gambler (talk) 20:35, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
