کچھ وقت پہلے میں نے اردو ویکیپیڈیا کے ایک لاکھ مضامین کی تکمیل پرایک ویکیپیڈیا بلاگ لکھا تھا، جس میں اردو ویکیپیڈیا کے اس سنگ میل کو عبور کرنے پر چند نمایاں نکات کا احاطہ کرنے کی کوشش کی تھی۔ اس دوران میں آپ میں سے کچھ اصحاب کی قیمتی آراء کو ایک منصوبہ جاتی صفحہ میں جمع بھی کیا تھا، جس کا اختصار اس صفحہ کے ربط کے ساتھ متذکرہ بلاگ میں لکھ بھی چکا ہوں۔ محترم شعیب بھائی نے یہ رائے پیش کی کہ ایک لاکھ کا ہدف پورا کر کے اردو ویکیپیڈیا ایک عالمی معیار کو پہنچی ہے اور اب لازم ہے کہ یہاں سے کوئی منتظم مضیف (اسٹیورڈ ) کے فرائض انجام دے۔ مضیفوں کا دائرہ عمل ایک محدود ویکی سے کہیں زیادہ عالمی سطح پر کئی زبانوں کے ویکی منصوبوں پر کام کرنا ہے۔ اب تک تمل ویکیپیڈیا کے شنمگھم جنوبی ایشیاء کی کسی زبان سے واحدمضیف بنے ہیں جبکہ انگریزی، جرمن، فرانسیسی، وغیرہ زبانوں سے مضیفوں کا انتخاب ایک عام بات ہے۔ کسی ویکی سے مضیف کا منتخب ہونا اس ویکی کی عمدہ کارگردگی اور فعالیت کا آئینہ دار ہے۔ باہمی صلاح و مشورہ سے ناچیز کے حق میں اردو ویکیپیڈیا کی برسرآوردہ شخصیات جن میں طاہرمحمود صاحب، عبید رضا صاحب، شعیب صاحب،امین اکبر صاحب، عثمان صاحب ہیں، نے مجھے آگے کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

مضیف کےانتخاب کا عمل ابھی جاری ہے۔ مضیف کے طور پر منتخب ہونے کے لیے حسب ذیل شرائط کی تکمیل کرنا ضروری ہے:

1. کم از کم 30 تائیدی ووٹ (الحمداللہ اب ہم 50 پر پہنچ گئے ہیں)
2. تائیدی ووٹوں کا منفی ووٹوں سے آگے ہونا (یہ بھی الحمداللہ اب تک برقرار ہے)
3. تائیدی ووٹوں اور منفی ووٹوں کا باہمی تناست دیکھا جائے تو تائیدی ووٹ کا فیصد دیگر امیدوار وں سے کافی آگے ہو (یہ ابھی غور طلب ہے اور اس میں آپ کی خصوصی توجہ درکار ہے)۔

ان باتوں کے پیش نظر اردو ویکیپیڈیا کے معاون اور اردو کے چاہنے والے ہونے کی وجہ آپ سے اس رائے دہی میں ووٹ دینے کی خصوصی درخواست ہے۔ یہ اس لیے بھی ضروری ہے کہ کچھ گوشوں سے اردو ویکیپیڈیا کو حقیر اور غیر اہم منصوبہ قرار دینے کی مذموم کوشش کی جا رہی ہے۔
