Wp/pus edit

Hello, I see you created Wp/pus. If you are looking for the Pashto Wikipedia, see ps.wikipedia.org. SPQRobin 21:01, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Its Romanized form of Pashto language. the other one is Arabic. --Khangul 21:04, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry but only very rarely a language can have multiple projects. As far as I know, Pashto is almost never written in a Romanized form. Even if the Pashto Wikipedia community wanted a Romanized Pashto project, one project with a script converter is preferred. SPQRobin 21:11, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
The Romanized Pashto project is a totally new project that is going to start either you give us place here or we would have to apply to higher authorities. This is a new movement of Pashto language that will slowly adopt the Romanized form as a newly adopted written form just as it happened with the Turkish language. So kindly let me edit the new page. I dont know how i can use script converter. if you kindly let me know about the script converter then i would not try here rather try to place the converter script in ps.wikipedia.org.

Thanks --Khangul 21:16, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I contacted the other members of the Language Committee to see what they think of the project. I also found this page on Meta.
Does the Pashto Wikipedia community know of your project? A language converter is something like on the Kurdish Wikipedia between Latin/Roman script and the Arabic script: the software automatically converts the text. But the community would need to agree with implementing it. SPQRobin 21:32, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Dear friend we already have a forum and we discussed about it in that forum. We have Pashto Romanized Alphabet as well. but the thing is we need to change the interface of wikipedia in romanized pashto. If we use script converter it will not help because the newly formed romanized form is from LTR and the Pashto arabic form is from RTL. So there would be this problem. In the community old people are against it but the new generation is pro adapting the new alphabets. Kindly let me know if you are going to support this or not. if not then we will have to build up our own Page outside the database of wikipedia. Pashto is the language of over 40 million people in the world, it has never had a standard written form but this newly adapted form will pave the way towards more standardization. --Khangul 22:15, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Here on Incubator you cannot start a project in Romanized Pashto at this point. If it has more support later, it might be considered. The only current option for a Wikipedia is a language converter, if the community agrees with it. The difference between LTR and RTL is not a problem (even if it is, it can and should be solved). SPQRobin 22:44, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
So how can I add the language converter? this page on Meta was started by me. How much should be the number of supporters so that this project is granted? There will not be any opposing ideas about the language converter as well, would you mind guiding me how i can add the language converter? Thanks --Khangul 22:55, 22 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
