"Alice Cogswell"

edit

Unfortunately, Mediawiki currently imposes a limit of 255 bytes to a page title, resulting in the last symbol of the title of the above linked page being cut off when you moved it, leaving a "S1dc2" at the end. Until this issue can be fixed, one way to go around it is to remove the sorting prefix of some blocks until it's shorter than 255 characters. --Yair rand (talk) 22:00, 26 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

A few things

edit
  • Re your posts on Translatewiki's Support page: Neither the brackets around edit section buttons nor those around the table of contents' show/hide buttons are localizable at the moment. These issues are bug 57818 and bug 57518 on Bugzilla.
  • I see that you changed the translations of "Main page" on Translatewiki. Should the page Wp/ase/AS18517S20500S2ff00M529x544S2ff00482x483S20500519x504S18517503x517 also be moved?
  • In the translations you just added for messages including the word "log(s)", are you using the same ASL terms for "log" as you used in other messages for "history"? If so, that could be problematic. The uses of the words in Mediawiki have very different connotations. For example, at the top of every "View history" ("M525x524S2ff00482x483S10e00507x494S26500511x474 M514x523S11541487x478S22f04489x509") page, there's a link to that page's "logs" (protection logs, deletion logs, patrol logs, move logs, etc.) with the text "View logs for this page" (per your current translation, "M525x524S2ff00482x483S10e00507x494S26500511x474 M531x512S15a37501x488S1f550507x495S20e00487x499S26502469x498 M514x523S11541487x478S22f04489x509"), and if those are using the same word to refer to them, the reader is likely to be confused.

  • It was worth a try to see if I could find it.
  • Yeah, it probably should be moved, but I think it will need to have the Spelling Sequence in it. Should the page be moved, or should we first try to do the Spelling Sequence? It might take a while for it.
  • That's right. I didn't remember there was a View History already. Hmm... I will have to think of something else for logs.

I don't actually know what a Spelling Sequence is, unfortunately... :/ --Yair rand (talk) 23:02, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's just some information that say what symbols come first for "alphabetical" orderings. Many of the pages do not have it yet either, so it is something that needs to be done with them as well. Written ASL Wikibook

edit

Hi! Based off of your involvement with the ASL wikipedia, I was hoping you might be interested in contributing to the SignWriting section on the wikibook on ASL writing systems.[1] If we had a wikibook that taught people how to use SignWriting, we might get a lot more contributors to the ASL wikipedia project! :)
