Makuru (roughly June and July), the first rains and the beginning of Winter. This is the bonar where cold fronts, that have been present over the lower south-west coast region, cross further north. Nidja bonar is usually the wettest part of the year. The Noongar people would begin to move inland to the hills to hunt when they felt the rains had replenished the inland water resources.[1][2]
