Hi Stardsen, I'm Italian Norman, the starter of the osx Wikimedia Incubator test. When I started this test Wiki I was not very experienced in Old Saxon, but I found time to study it better and now I can contribute in a grammatically more correct way in Old Saxon. I hope we can collaborate and make this test become a true Wikipedia in Old Saxon. -- Italian Norman (talk)

hey! Pleased to talk to you! I think we never spoke before though I noticed your interest for Old Saxon for quite a long time!! Of course we can collaborate! If you're interested I made loads of grammatical templates on: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Old_Saxon_language for Old saxon (I had to gather all these, took me one year!! ) and now I think we can surely make this into a true Old Saxon wikipedia! It would be a dream for me... Anyway I'm currently making a short Old Saxon vocab list on my deviantart: http://sewandrere.deviantart.com/ I hope it will help us! --Stardsen (talk) 21:57, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi again. After a long pause I am again available to improve our Old Saxon project. I have this very good Old Saxon/Old English grammar book http://www.ibs.it/code/9788820703868/manganella-gemma/anglosassone-sassone-antico.html and I gathered Old Saxon declension and conjugation tables into one document. If you want it, I can email it. Also, I have the following dictionary http://www.degruyter.com/view/product/44084 (Altsächsisches Handwörterbuch / A Concise Old Saxon Dictionary). I don't know how or why, but some years ago it was freely available somewhere and I downloaded it, but now it is not available anymore, it seems. What's your email address? By the way, thank you for your contributions. --Italian Norman (talk) 14:01, 27 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Native language

Hey Stardsen, does your native language happen to be English? :) --OWTB (talk) 04:49, 15 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ho, sorry, I'm French, but I speak English :) --Stardsen (talk) 11:47, 15 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ah yeah, that's also possible :) I notice a slight "anglo-french" influence in your osx writing. You write Giēnid Kuningdōm, but I don't think that's correct. As you might or might not know, in German they say "Vereinigtes Königreich" and in Dutch "Verenigd Koninkrijk", not "Ge-einigtes Königreich" or "Ge-enigd Koninkrijk" (like in English "United" and French "Uni"). Also current day Low Saxon: "Verienigd Keuninkriek" or "Vereenigt Königriek". Therefore, I think it makes more sense to write "Farēnid Kuningdōm" :) --OWTB (talk) 12:09, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks I know, but I've not written the title, it was already written when I edited the text inside, but yeah, I also found it strange, even in Swedish (which is not a west germanic language) they say "Förenade konungariket", but in Old English they say (on the old english wikipedia) "Geāned Cynerīce", so I don't know what to do :/ --Stardsen (talk) 19:07, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I fear "Modern Old English" has been influenced by Modern English. I don't know any verb in a Germanic language using the construction "one" + -(ig)e. All paste "for-" before it. As there was no United Kingdom in the days of Old English, they probably made the same mistake as the creator of the osx page. --OWTB (talk) 08:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, I think you're right, I changed the name of the page --Stardsen (talk) 18:57, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
