Template Desa/Village edit

I tried to create a template Desa/village. Please check whether it is correct. (https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Wp/gor/Desa) Mar_One Bicara 23:37, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

It is correct. However, I am thinking of changing the colour of the templates, to show the difference between one and the other. --Katxis (talk) 07:07, 2 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Support for Gorontalo Wikipedia approval edit

Hi! I've already expressed my support for the approval of the Gorontalo Wikipedia. Good luck :) --Katxis (talk) 08:16, 21 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Wp/gor: Ready for approval? edit

Hi, Marwan:

I've been pushing MF-Warburg to get Wp/gor on LangCom's agenda for approval. You are the most ready project in the Incubator right now that isn't already either approved or in the process of approval. However, I did notice one thing that you may want to address quickly. Over the course of the past several months, some more messages were added to the "most used MediaWiki core messages" group at translatewiki.net. Right now there are about 94 messages in that group that are untranslated. I'm going to nudge MF-W again, but in the meantime, you and your community should get over to translatewiki:Special:Translate/core-0-mostused, select "Hulontalo" from the drop-down, and translate the rest of the messages.

Thanks, and good luck.

StevenJ81 (talk) (administrator) StevenJ81 (talk) 21:03, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your attention and this happy news.

We waited long for this good news. I have completed translation of "most used MediaWiki core messages" in tranlatewiki.net. Greetings from the Gorontalo language community. Sincerely Mar_One Bicara 16:42, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much. (Note: I checked, and there are still two marked "outdated". You may not have to change them, but do look at them and confirm or not.) StevenJ81 (talk) 17:07, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Well, I checked and finished. Thanks. Mar_One Bicara 17:44, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Language verification edit

Marwan, I think LangCom is ready to consider moving on your project now. For first approvals in a language, though, LangCom needs an outside expert to verify that the language in the test is correct. LangCom apparently does not have ready access to such an expert for your language. So I wonder if you have access to someone who is a professor or linguist with undisputed credentials who can verify the language. Ideally, it would be someone who was not involved in the test or only peripherally involved. But if you have an expert who has been involved, but whose credentials are good, that would probably be enough. Please get back to me as soon as you can. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:53, 30 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi StevenJ81, thank you for this fantastic news! We are in the process of contacting several linguists who can verify the language, thus we need a moment to do this. However, we are trying our best in the following two days. As soon as we get one, we're glad to let you know.
Another thing that we need to know is, how the language verification process will be done? By email, or other way, such as Skype calling? I guess we need to inform the linguists how this thing will be done as well to make sure which way will be pleasurable for them.
Thank you. Mar_One Bicara 21:14, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how they do it. I can try to find out. Meanwhile, once you have located one or two possibilities, see if they would have any objection to either email on the one hand or telephone on the other. (I'm sure it would either be Skype or the expert would be called; the expert would not have to absorb the expense of calling.) The expert will probably need to show LangCom his/her credentials, unless they are already quite accessible on line. StevenJ81 (talk) 22:01, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
There is already 1 language expert we get and he already gave his email. What next?

Mar_One Bicara 12:45, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Send me an email (using the link at my user page) with your email address. I will pass that to the Language Committee, and someone from there should contact you directly. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:20, 3 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dear StevenJ81. I was informed by Marwan Mohamad that the email you sent to one of Gorontalo language expert, SB (in initial), was not received by the person, perhaps you got the email address wrong, or another reason that the email was not sent. It is very kind if you could resend in the email to him. Best, ··· 🌸 Rachmat04 · 01:42, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

That is the address that I sent to the LangCom members who were to write him. I will have them resend. StevenJ81 (talk) 18:09, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

swu or bfw edit

Hi, it seems that you created Bonda Wikipedia test under Wp/swu, but recently I checked SIL, the swu isn't Bonda, it's Suwawa instead, the actual code for Bondo is bfw, so should you move your project to bfw, or recall it as Suwawa Wikipedia? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 12:46, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for correcting it. But the local name for Suwawa language is Bonda not Bondo. Mar_One Bicara 13:13, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Gorontalo Wikipedia created! edit

Hi, Marwan. Gorontalo Wikipedia is now created, so you should now be working at gor: instead of on the test project. Congratulations!

  • Your test-admin status will expire in one week. Please have a look at the new wiki and the test project over the next week and make sure that everything appears to be in order.
  • Test-admin status does not automatically transfer to admin status on the new wiki. You will need to create an RfA page on the new wiki and run a discussion for a minimum of one week. If there are no serious objections to your candidacy—or if the discussion is robust, and at least 70% of participants support you—then you go to Steward requests/Permissions on Meta to have the Stewards give you admin status. (This is normally temporary for new projects.)

If you have any questions, please let me know. StevenJ81 (talk) 17:05, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Steven.

This is the happy news we've been waiting for. I will first review your suggestion before doing it. Thanks. -- Mar_One Bicara 21:54, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

gor.wikipedia.org has been created edit

Hello. gor: is now live. I imported all pages from Wp/gor. Please inform me if I accidentally missed some, so that I can still import them. Otherwise, good luck with the new wiki! --MF-W {a, b} 17:22, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks.

This is the happy news we are waiting for. I'll monitor the changes and will let you know if something goes wrong. Yours sincerely. Mar_One Bicara 22:01, 19 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Translation request edit

Hi, could you please translate these two articles to Gorontalo?

Interlingue, formerly Occidental, is an international auxiliary language created by Edgar de Wahl and published in 1922. Literature The main literary texts in Occidental appeared in Cosmoglotta. There were also some works, both original and translated, published in Interlingue.
Vicente Costalago is a philologist, author and writer in the artificial language Interlingue. He is the main writer in that language. He published the first original novel in Lingua Franca Nova, entitled "La xerca per Pahoa". His second publication was written in Interlingue. Entitled "Li sercha in li castelle Dewahl e altri racontas", it is an original book. It was followed by "Antologie hispan", a compilation of texts from the Spanish literature translated to Interlingue. His third book, also in Interlingue, was "Fabules, racontas e mites".

Thanks for your help. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 22:22, 17 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wt/gor edit

Hello, Marwan, and also ping @Supardisahabu, Zhoelyakin, NurSafitri27, Lingga:.

I am impressed with the activity you all have in the Gorontalo Wiktionary, and would like to propose it for approval to the language committee soon. However, there is one requirement that is missing, which is translation into Gorontalo in Translatewiki. You can see some stats here: toolforge:codelookup/gor. Ideally, I would like to see all of the "Most important messages" translated (currently at 96.58%), and around 30% translation of "MediaWiki core messages". If any of you would be able to work on that in the next few weeks, I think we can approve the Gorontalo Wiktionary pretty soon! [[User:|User:]] (talk) 08:45, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mr. @Jon Harald Søby:, sorry for the late response to your message. I will see and work on all the necessary translations on the Translatewiki page soon. We all members of the community are pleased with your attention. Greetings. Mar_One Bicara 09:39, 24 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Probably it's the time to request on Meta for Wq/gor? edit

In the past months, you and other contributors are actively contributing Wq/gor, which I'm proud with that. But there's no request on Meta associated with this test project, then I'd love to know if there are plans to start it in the following months or not? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 01:32, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
