At the right there are some important links, and here are some tips and info:
- If you haven't created a user page yet, please create one with for example Babel templates on it.
- You can select your interface language in your preferences.
- If you make articles, templates or categories, don't forget to add a prefix!
- If your knowledge of English is good, you can help with translating pages to other languages you know, so more people can understand it!
- If you want to translate the interface, please go to Translatewiki.net and follow the instructions.
Syriac/Aramaic test projects
editHi Man2fly2002, I noticed that you created test Wiktionaries and Wikiquotes in the arc and syc languages. Which language is it that you now want to concentrate on? I guess it's Syriac/syc, whose Wikipedia is located at arc.wikipedia.org (bugzilla:26725)? If this is the case, I can help you with moving the pages to the correct prefix. --MF-W {a, b} 15:26, 8 June 2012 (UTC) (PS: Please also note that the info pages should only contain a template, and the Main Pages of the projects should be put on a subpage).
Syriac Wiktionaries and Wikiquotes
editThank you so much for your interest and for your offer to help the Syriac Wiktionaries and Wikiquotes, and for the syc prefix i really need your help to fix this problem, and how can i get these two new projects approved (Wiktionaries and Wikiquotes). waiting for your reply. Cheers mate. ܒܪ ܐܫܘܪ (talk) 04:31, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry for the delay. If the projects you are currently working on at Wq/arc and Wt/arc are in Syriac language, the same language also used on http://arc.wikipedia.org, then you will have to use the 'syc' prefix. This is because the 'arc' prefix stands for Official Aramaic from 700 until 300 BC; not Syriac. See also bugzilla:26725.
- I can fix change the prefix for you if this is the case. --MF-W {a, b} 20:35, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Syriac not Aramaic
editHi MF-Warburg, yes it is the Syriac language used in arc.wikipedia.org, please do fix this and change the prefix to (SYC) thank you so much in advance for your help. 02:27, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I have changed the prefixes. You can now contribute in Wt/syc and Wq/syc. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them. --MF-W {a, b} 15:48, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your help to changing the prefix to SYC but can you please fix the text alignment as well, since the Syriac language its written from right to left. Wq/syc/ܦܐܬܐ ܪܝܫܝܬܐ

- This has now been fixed thanks to user:SPQRobin. May I ask, if the "arc" localisation of the MediaWiki software, which you have enabled in your prefences, is also in Syriac/syc and not Aramaic? --MF-W {a, b} 00:56, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help guys you are the best.
I just realized that i cant create any more templates ever since we changed the prefix from (arc) to (syc) and i am getting an error message for some reason!!
this is the error message [[1]] and for some reason the (arc) prefix still coming in the address of any page i am trying to create for example when i am trying to create a template the address is like (template:Wt/arc/name) while it was suppose to be (template:Wt/syc/name) after changing the prefix and i believe that's why i am keep getting the error message mentioned above. thanks mate cheers. ܒܪ ܐܫܘܪ (talk) 01:09, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- This is probably because you still have set Wq/arc in your preferences (in "Test wiki:" and "Test wiki language:"). You need to change this to syc. --MF-W {a, b} 12:48, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
