Hi Imdadb,

According to Ethnologue, the Brahui language is written using the arabic script. However if you are a native speaker of Brahui and you wish to use the Latin script, it would be possible to have a Brahui Wikipedia with both writing systems co-existing side-by-side. --Jose77 01:42, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

The "True Jesus Church" is an independent church that was established in Beijing, China in 1917. Today, there are approximately 2.5 million members in fifty three countries and six continents. The church belongs to the Protestant group of Christianity that emerged during the early twentieth century. They aim to preach the gospel to all nations before the Second Coming of Jesus. The ten main beliefs of the church are:

1. Holy Spirit
2. Baptism
3. Feet Washing
4. Holy Communion
5. Sabbath Day
6. Jesus Christ
7. The Bible
8. Salvation
9. The church
10. Final Judgement

Here I have tried to translate the passage as precisely as possible. I did not try word-to-word translation at any occasion. It was for sure very difficult a work to do, as most of the text comprised of terminology specific to Christianity Religion. I did not hear or read any alternatives for these terms in my language. There might be established terminology but I am myself ignorant of that.

I have invented some terms which may or may not be appropriate. But this will certainly reflect my understanding of Jesus and Christianity. I have given some explanation of the terms at the end in an effort to explain the terminology I have used or invented. I hope that helps.

Translated Text

“Ísá ná Hakkí á Carc/True Jesus Church” asi ázáto carc ase ki 1917 ŧí Bíjing, Cín aŧí ađđ tiningá. Dá carc aná dá vaxtá panjá o sae mulk áteŧí bíst o panc lakk básk arer. Dá carc Ísáí dín aná, bístamíko sadí ná avalsar aŧí vadí maroká, Proŧaesŧanŧ firka ná dúŧí e. Dáfk Ísá ná Dubar Vadí Manning án málav ar kaom aná ar bandaģ iskán Hakk aná Kulav e rasefing xuára. Carc aná bundarí á dae (10) amanna dádo:

2. Gunáh tá Şoling
3. Nat tá Silling
4. Ísá ná Dávat (Mehr aná Dávat)

Explanation of Terms

Ísá (Jesus)

Ísáí (Christian): Literally meaning, 'Belonging to Jesus'

Ísáí dín (Christianity): Literally meaning, 'Religion of those who belong to Jesus'. Alternate: Ísá ná dín: Literally meaning, 'The Religion of Jesus'

Ísá ná Dubar Vadí Manning (Second Coming of Jesus): Literally meaning, 'the second birth of the Jesus'. Dubar also means 'again' instead of 'second'; this also fits perfect here. Vadí also means 'being visible'; which again fits perfect here.

Hakk aná kulav (Gospel): Literally meaning, 'The message of Truth' (This reflects my understanding of the word 'gospel')

Pák á Arváh (Holy Spirit): Literally meaning, 'Spirit, which is clean/pure and without sins'.

Gunáh tá Şoling (Baptism): Şoling literally means pouring out of a liquid. In Brahui be-şoling means to take bath, which itself literally means 'pouring out the salts'. For me Gunáh tá Şoling is perfect term for Baptism, as it will be 'pouring out sins'.

Nat tá Silling (Feet Washing): Literally meaning 'washing of feet'

Ísá ná Dávat (Holy Communion): Literally meaning, 'a party/dinner/gathering from (arranged by) Jesus'. Alternate: Mehr aná Dávat Literally meaning, 'The Party/Dinner/gathering of Love'

Sabbat ná De (Sabbath Day) (Alternates: Sáíń Kanning ná De, Ásrátí ná De): I don’t think if all words need to be translated. There can be (or must be) words which will look more appropriate if used as they are. But again I will mention my position that I really did not know what to translate and what to leave. So, Here I have preferred using Sabbat ná De, literally meaning 'day of Sabbath'. But, there can also be other alternatives like Sáíń Kanning ná De, literally meaning 'the day to rest/relaxation', and Ásrátí ná De, literally meaning 'the day of ease or the day of comfort.

Ísá Masíh (Jesus Christ) (Alternates: Ísá Rakkenok, Ísá Mehrván): Mehrván means 'the one who loves and is merciful'. Rakkenok means ‘savior’ or ‘protector’. And Masíh is the common word for Christ in all languages of our region. Use ‘Masíh’ as it is most commonly used. If I were to choose, than certainly it would be Ísá Mehrván meaning 'Ísá: who loves and has mercy on everyone'

Injíl Şaríf (The Bible): Bible is called Injíl overall the region. I will certainly add Şaríf as a word of respect. This is same as we say Kurán Şaríf for mentioning Quran.

Toba o Baxşiş (Salvation): Toba means ‘to ask for mercy’. Baxşiş means ‘forgiveness’.

Carc (The Church): There are no specific words in Brahui for religious buildings other tha masít, meaning 'mosque'. In everyday discourse the illiterate people (who are most probably the users of the purest form of any language) call every building a masít where people gather to perform prayers. For a Church they will say Ísáí tá masít, and for Mandir Baxál tá masít. But in this world of hatred and extremism, I will not bear the responsibility if you use masít as an alternate word for church. Just Kidding!

Kiámat (Final Judgement): This is the word for 'The Judgment Day' in Islam and is known to all Brahui speaking Muslims. So, i keep this same word here.

In the end I will recommend you not to use my translated work unless you are sure of the meaning of each word and term.

Could you please write a stub Wp/brh/Kurow – just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please. If you know other users who can do it in Baluchi or Seraiki, I also please.

PS. Article about Kurów is already in 344 languages and dialects. If your village/town/city isn't yet on PL wiki, I can do article about it. (I'm first author of requests and this article have the biggest number of interwikis).
