Welcome to Wikimedia Incubator!

At the right there are some important links, and here are some tips and info:

  • If you haven't created a user page yet, please create one with for example Babel templates on it.
  • You can select your interface language in your preferences.
  • If you make articles, templates or categories, don't forget to add a prefix!
  • If your knowledge of English is good, you can help with translating pages to other languages you know, so more people can understand them!

Thank you very much

edit

Hi DTL1234, thank you very much for you contributions. I saw your user page saying that you are not very good at Middle English. Don’t worry to much about it as you will get better the more you edit 💪🏻. You can use this Middle English dictionary, the Etymology part in wikitionary (for example desk in Middle English actually was deske or desque), and Wp/enm/Wikipaedia:Spelling and grammar as references so that your writing will be as accurate as possible. Also don’t forget to add every page that you create to the category. -Gifnk dlm 2020 (talk) 11:48, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Gifnk dlm 2020 Thank you for your thanks! I appreciate the access to resources you have provided and that are in the Wikipedia, and I hope to get better and better Middle English as time goes on. However I have a question, what do you mean by add every page I create to "the category"? DTL1234 (talk) 12:14, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Every test wiki has a main category. For Middle English Wikipedia it’s Category:Wp/enm. ASIK, it’s only purpose is to keep track of the number of articles in this specific wiki. You can add any page to this category by typing [[Category:Wp/enm]], and if you want to link to this category, you need to type [[:Category:Wp/enm]]. Also it’s important to type {{DEFAULTSORT:articleName}} otherwise it will list it as an article that begins with a w because it will sort it as Wp/enm/name. Feel free to also add it to relevant categories like Category:Wp/enm/Cites. If you press “All pages in this test wiki”, and in namespace select category, you will see all the categories currently available in this test wiki. Feel free to create new one btw. The way I do this is by typing the category as if it’s one that exists and then pressing on the red link to create it like you would with the red link of an article. Hope that clears everything. Feel free to ask questions if you don’t understand something. -Gifnk dlm 2020 (talk) 13:24, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ah yes, I can see the edits you did on the Glasgow page, I understand it now. I'll be sure to place the new articles in the categories. I apologize, I am very new to a lot of Wikipedia.Thank you! DTL1234 (talk) 13:38, 7 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Roman numerals

edit

Hi, I saw your edits in Wp/enm/Richmond, Virginia. Thank you very much! Just please put attention in the future that if you copy numbers from Roman Numeral Converters online and some of the letters have Overlines (an Overline represents multiplication by 1,000) it won’t be kept. You can type {{Wp/enm/Roman|num}} like I have done in this article. -Gifnk dlm 2020 (talk) 17:32, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
