Džon Ronald Rul Tolkin (ang.: John Ronald Reuel Tolkien; 1892–1973) byl anglijskym pisateljem fantastiky i oksfordskym profesorom.
Žitje
editTolkin urodil se v 1892 godu v Blumfontejnu v Svobodnoj državě Oranji (dnes Južnoafrikanska republika). Jegov otec Artur Tolkin byl urednikom v banku. Jegova matka nazyvala se Mabel Suffield. V 1895 godu Tolkin, mladši brat jegov Hilari i jihna matka prěselili se do Birminghama v Angliji.
V 1916 godu oženil se z Edith Bratt. Jim rodili se četvero deti: Džon, Michael, Hristofor i Priscila. Tolkin umrěl v 1973 godu v Bornmautu.
