There was a previous effort to start a project at this code based particularly on Spanish-based creole languages. These include:
- Chavacano, language code cbk, spoken in the Phillipines. This has six dialects, of which one has a Wikipedia project (grandfathered under old rules):
- Zamboangueño Chavacano Wikipedia (it's suggested to move back to cbk.wikipedia.org as per phab:T124657)
- Palenquero, language code pln, spoken in Colombia.
Depending on the definition, these may also include:
- Bozal Spanish, possibly extinct; spoken at least by slaves in Spanish territories of the Western Hemisphere.
- Annobonese, language code fab, spoken in islands off the coast of Equatorial Guinea, and probably more truly a Portuguese-based creole.
- Papamiento, language code pap, spoken in the Dutch West Indies. This is normally classified as a Portuguese-based creole, but includes elements of Spanish, among others. There is a Wikipedia project in this language:
- Pichinglis, language code fpe, spoken on the island of Bioko in Equatorial Guinea. This is normally classified as an English-based creole, but includes elements of Spanish.
- San Andrés–Providencia Creole, language code icr, spoken on islands off the coast of Colombia. This is normally classified as an English-based creole, but includes elements of Spanish.
Please feel free to start a Wikipedia test in any of these languages (except where Wikipedias already exist), using the appropriate language code.
