Test-administrators
editSee Special:Listusers/test-sysop for a list of the current test-administrators.
- Who?
- A test-administrator is an active contributor to a test here on Incubator who was given rights to take care of that test.
- What can he do?
-
- delete and undelete page (he may only use this in his test!*)
- block and unblock users (he may only use this in an emergency case!*)
- roll back vandalism
- * = This is not maintained by the computer system, but by the other users (mostly the bureaucrats). If you do something outside your test, be prepared to defend your actions or your right may be removed.
- When will this permission be given to a user?
-
- He has to be a good contributor to the test language.
- The test language must have more than 50 pages of content.
- The test language must have (or have had) a request at Meta.
- More than 1 person has to be active at the test project.
- When will this permission be removed from a user?
- Test-administrators will be desysopped after a year (see Incubator:Test-administrators) or after their test is deleted (see Incubator:Policy#Closure or deletion). They will be asked if they want to become a temporary sysop at their new wiki.
- They could be desysopped if they are misbehaving.
- Request for permissions
- Other users are given five days to place comments. After this period, requests will be reviewed by a bureaucrat and if there is no reasonable opposition, you will be made into a test-admin. The requests below are not votes, though if you are a contributor to the same test as the test of the user who asks for the rights at the test please add
{{testpart}}
to your vote, so the bureaucrat can see that your vote is more relevant to the request than someone else's.
Administrators
editSee Special:Listusers/sysop for a list of the current administrators. See Special:Listusers/bureaucrat for a list of the current bureaucrats.
- Who?
- Administrator access is granted to known and trusted members of the community who are familiar with the policies of the Wikimedia Incubator. Adminship status on Wikimedia Incubator is not an honour for outstanding content contributors but just an additional tool for people that showed that they want to clean up. Administrator access is also not meant to imply editorial authority on the project. An administrator is simply a trusted user. Administrators are expected to watch the Administrators' noticeboard for notices put up by other users.
- You may request to be a bureaucrat too, but you can also just request to be an admin.
- What can he do?
-
- protect and unprotect pages
- delete and undelete pages
- delete images and other uploaded files (uploading is disabled, so this will be obsolete soon)
- block and unblock users
- edit the interface and other protected pages
- When will this permission be given to a user?
-
- You are not completely new to Wikimedia projects and you understand and agree with the goals of the Incubator project.
- You have a user page on the Incubator and you are a contributor to this wiki.
- You agree to follow relevant policies as those are developed here and respect consensus of the users of this site.
- If you request to be a bureaucrat too, the you can also rename a user, add the test-administrator, administrator, bureaucrat and bot right, and remove the test-administrator and bot right.
- When will this permission be removed from a user?
- When he is inactive, misbehaving or other such reasons, otherwise never. "Inactive" means no edits in the past 6 months. Desysopped administrators may re-apply in the regular way.
- Request for permissions
- When there are no votes or comments anymore in the next five days after the last vote or comment, a bureaucrat will make a decision based on the votes and comments. The limit is 15 days.
Bot
editSee Special:Listusers/bot for a list of the current bots.
- Who?
- This is an extra account of a user, mostly used for many edits or other actions.
- What can he do?
-
- Nothing special, but his edits don't show up in the recent changes
- When will this permission be given to a user?
- Give a description of what your bot will be used for. A bureaucrat will decide if a bot is safe and needed though any user may make a comment about it.
- When will this permission be removed from a user?
- Per request, when he is inactive, misbehaving or other such reasons.
Request for permissions
editYou can find the policy in the appropriate section above. If you request access which does not have a policy, the following will be used:
- When there are no votes or comments anymore in the next five days after the last vote or comment, a bureaucrat will make a decision based on the votes and comments.
Also requests for username changes can be placed here.
