Splitting

edit

Considering my recent fault because of confusion as well as some comments above, I would suggest to split the page to various separate pages to make it more synoptical and well-arranged. If there won't be any objections, I can perform it.

I don't see what this would achieve. In the current form, we have all user groups' policies & requests in one page, which works well, as there isn't such a large number of requests. --MF-W {a, b} 18:03, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Then at first, the page title is heavily misleading...

Would there be an alternative title that you suggest? --MF-W {a, b} 20:48, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Incubator:Advanced rights or something in that sense... But I am still in favour of splitting to pages by their purpose rather than have everything mixed on single one which is rather confusing.

I think initially it should not be split better keep all the information together. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 06:05, 29 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
I agree it is a little confusing and would suggest renaming the page to Incubator:Requests for advanced rights. The similar pages on other wikis use the format Project:Requests for adminship or words to that effect (see d:Q4048254). Green Giant (talk) 12:52, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate the point. But I:RFA does exist (it redirects to I:A). The page covers both the description of advanced rights and the requests for advanced rights, and we don't really see a need to split it up. It's easier for us to watch in one place. Translation

edit

I would like to move the whole chunk of policy-related text to Incubator:Administrators/top so it can be translated. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:55, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense. --MF-W {a, b} 14:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@MF-Warburg: Realised that some section header can't be ported over to /top. Would it make sense if the various sections be moved to a subpage (e.g, "Current requests for test adminship" -> "Incubator:Administrators/Requests for test adminship") and transcluded from there? --Minorax«¦talk¦» 03:20, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I think that won't be necessary. Meta also doesn't translate these sections. --MF-W {a, b} 20:03, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Minorax, @MF-Warburg - Now we have translations, but they are not displayed on the main page. Do I understand correctly that it was planned to include the "/top" subpage in "autotranslate" mode (with supporting for fallback languages)? Kaganer (talk) 15:54, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Kaganer: Yes. It's meant for the software to automatically translate the page according to the user language. Feel free to add <languages/> if you think that it is necessary. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 09:13, 16 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
By way, i'm seen Incubator:Translations, was created by @SPQRobin in 2012 (used for abusefilter warnigs only, AFAIK).
But this is undocumented and there is not any links from any help or maintenance pages. Kaganer (talk) 18:51, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
