Dear Troy, somehow my browser is not showing the coptic letters properly, all i can see here is squares one beside another. IS there something i can do to be able to read coptic and for my browser to show the coptic text ? Thanks--Ramsis II 00:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Coptic Wikipedia edit

The request for Coptic Wikipedia was rejected on the basis that it became 'extinct' by the 17th century. However, it is mentioned here that 300 people are still fluent in the language and it is also the liturgical language of the coptic orthodox church - which makes its significance no less than Latin, Syriac, Ancient Greek and Hebrew. Besides, the Hebrew language was 'extinct' as a spoken language in daily usage since the 4th century but was revived since the 1880s. --Jose77 22:22, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I will comply with your request.
But bear in mind that other Incubator projects, notably Ancient Greek, Ottoman Turkish still retain their articles on Wikimedia Incubator and have not been deleted despite their requests being rejected. Manchu only has 60 living speakers compared to 300 for Coptic. --Jose77 05:25, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
