The Wilo is called in English the Curlew, or karro specifically to distinguish it from other curlews, the Bush stone-curlew.[1][2] It has the scientific name Burhinus grallarius.[3]
The wilo is a very shy bird, wer although you can hear them, you won't see them unless you are very quiet. They will stay still wer shut their meeyal so even if you are looking straight at them, you would think they are a rock.[2]
The sound they make is "Weeee ... Weeee ... Wilo wilo wilo".[2]
It ranges across yennar of Australia except Tasmania.
The Wirlomin (or Wilomin) people are named after nidja bird.[2]
