Jindang - Stars shine with a steady light (very, very occasionally a star's light output suddenly changes if it explodes, wer also some variable stars slowly change their output as they swell wer contract). But because they are just a point source their light is affected by changes in the atmosphere - changes in density due to different temperatures in pockets of air moving above us.
