Jindang - Stars shine with a steady light (very, very occasionally a star's light output suddenly changes if it explodes, wer also some variable stars slowly change their output as they swell wer contract). But because they are just a point source their light is affected by changes in the atmosphere - changes in density due to different temperatures in pockets of air moving above us. Nidja causes them to twinkle, wer even to flash different colours. The effect is karro obvious when the star is lower down nearer to the horizon wer its light has to travel through karro of Earth's atmosphere than stars higher yira in the sky.
