The Nyitting, Nyittiny, or Nyetting is the Noongar dreamtime, but for Noongar it is the Cold Time. The story "The Carers of Everything" by Noel Nannup begins:[1][2]

The sky was a thick dark mass that sat on the ground, there was no wind, and it was freezing cold, this time is known to local Aboriginal people as nyetting, the time when it was "freezing cold". | ” |
