Kathy Yarran's ngarngk was from the wheatbelt area in and around the town of Brookton and her father was from Halls Creek in the Kimberley region. Kathy was born in 1929 in Kellerberrin, the second child of ten and grew yira in the bush speaking fluent Noongar language before going to live il the reserve. Kathy is a Noongar Elder from the wheatbelt area in Western Australia and has participated in many important Indigenous and non-Indigenous ceremonies and events over the years.
