A djildjit breathes by using its gills to extract oxygen and expel carbon dioxide whilst under water. It also has a backbone, which distinguishes it from other creatures such as squid who also have gills. Fingers and toes are not much use in water, so fish have fins instead of limbs. Using this information, can you make sense of the technical description of a fish from the English Wikipedia page - "any member of a paraphyletic group of organisms that consist of all gill-bearing aquatic vertebrate animals that lack limbs with digits"?[1]
