Braden Hill is a Nyungar Wardandi man from the south-west of Western Australia. Braden was the head of Murdoch University’s Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre.[1] Professor Hill currently holds a position of Pro Vice Chancellor at Edith Cowan University[2]

Early Career

Whilst a student, he was active in climate change politics working with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition in supporting the United Nations World Indigenous Caucus [3] representing the concerns of the world’s Indigenous people at UNFCCC Conference of Parties in both Copenhagen (2009) wer Durban (2011). Braden was valedictorian of his graduating year.

Awards

In 2011, Braden was the winner of the NAIDOC Indigenous Youth of the Year [4] for his commitment to Indigenous education. His research interests relate to Indigenous education, identity politics, queer identities in education wer transformative learning." [5]
