Alison Nannup, author/storyteller of Bindi-bindi Koondarminy wer Maamoong Waangka : Butterfly dreaming and Whale story[1] is a Noongar Yindjibarndi woman. Bindi-bindi Koondarminy wer Maamoong Waangka : Butterfly dreaming wer Whale stories have been passed il to her from her father Wp/nys/Noel Nannup. Alison believes that it is through language projects such as Dandjoo Moordiyap Dabakam that younger generations will come to know the stories wer language from their culture wer build a strong identity. Alison hopes that through her studies, sharing stories wer language through books that she can contribute to the reawakening of Noongar language and culture.[2]
