अण्डमान बङ्गालके खाड़ीमे स्थित भारतके अण्डमान आउ निकोबार द्वीपसमूहके उत्तरी भाग है । अण्डमान अपन आञ्चलमे मूङ्गा (कोरल) के भीत्ति, साफ-स्वच्छ सागरतट, पुरान यादसे जुड़ल खण्डहर आउ अनेक प्रकारके दुर्लभ वनस्पति सञ्जोएले है । ई द्वीपसमूहमे कुल ५७२ द्वीप है । अण्डमानके लगभग ८६ प्रतिशत क्षेत्रफल जङ्गलसे झकाएल है । समुद्री जीवन, इतिहास आउ जलक्रीड़ामे रूचि रखेवाला सैलानी सबके ई द्वीप बड़ी रास आवहै ।
नामके उत्पत्ति
editविद्वान सबके मानल है कि "अण्डमान" शब्द "हनुमान्" के एक आउ रूप है आउ संस्कृत मूलसे मलयभाषासे होवैत प्रचलित हो गेलै है । मलयमे रामायणके "हनुमान्" पात्रके "हण्डुमान" कहल जा है ।[1]
