Adding new letters to alphabet template

Would you kindly assist me in adding the Ottoman-arabic alphabet in to the forign alphabets. This list appear under the copy right template?. Alternatively you can add the alphabet from following template this to the alphabet list.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you. --Mehrdad 00:32, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is a problem here. Because I don't see this cahanges the and of page [3] It is important for Ottoman wikipedia. Thank you very much add Ottoman Alfabet again

If you insert them, you can't see them immediately at the end of the page. After you save your changes, and if you then edit a page, you can see it. SPQRobin 12:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I need to your help. I add these [4] but I cant see them the and of page [5]

SPQRobin 15:18, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help

Hello SPQRobin Sorry I don't know very well

Thank you very much this page. [6] But there is a problem here because of them to put the and of page. we can't see the screan for writing. If you put them above the page for axample like this [7] they will be more good and more easy and more useful for us to writing

--Tarih 23:20, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

For that I need Javascript, and I also think that place is not very good. I can put it above the toolbar? Maybe that is better. Or I can put it between the edit form and the summary/save button? What do you think? SPQRobin 01:13, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

why are you delete this page [8] Ottoman alapabet was very important to us.

I have moved the edit tools to under the edit form and above the summary. You have to select the language in the drop down menu. SPQRobin 23:11, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

how can I use edit tools. I don't know it

I use turkish I know it I have selected tr ten months ago. But there is not here ottaman alphabet. How can find ottoman alphabet

--Tarih 17:11, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Under the edit form, you can see "standard". You have to click on it. Then you have to click on "Osmanli". Normally you should see it then. SPQRobin 22:37, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for this information. There isn't a problem now.

Multilingal Wiktionary

SPQRobin 10:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ja nee, nu is het duidelijk! --Konghier 16:15, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

{{L}} for Turkic version

How can we create {{L}} for Turkic version?

I = i in Usual Latin alphabet system, but I = ı; İ = i in Turkic variant.

Therefore we should create a template like this:

{{L3|islam}} = [[Wp/code/İslam|islam]]

PS: I upgraded {{L}} and {{L2}}. --Yes0song 18:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I solve the problem. I made {{Li}}. Yes0song 04:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bureaucrat now

Hi, I made you a bureaucrat per our incubator:Administrators policy (admins become bureaucrats after a month), so there shouldn't be any more delays in promoting test administrators. Congrats and thanks for your work for Incubator :-) — Timichal 07:01, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yay! Congrats SPQ! :) Cbrown1023 talk 13:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Please call me "Robin", not "SPQ"  :-) SPQRobin 13:44, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphans

What's our policy on orphans? IMO, they should be deleted... but I'm not sure about we want to do here. Cbrown1023 talk 14:57, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nothing has a policy here... :-( I would say: delete. They haven't a license either. Once there is a new subdomain, the images used in that test language, aren't needed anymore. SPQRobin 15:49, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, are you willing to hit the button many, many times?? :) I'll add them all to a category if you like (easier to delete IMO), or you could just use the Special page... or I could just do it myself! :-P :-P :-P (a lot more detailed and unneeded, tbh)
You don't need to help (except if you are going to I:RFA :p), I will use Special:Unusedimages... "If you like mass deletions, go to Incubator and ask adminship!!" :-) :-) SPQRobin 16:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I think per our policy on administrators, it would be best for us to get the desysop extension added (or just make it so that 'crats can desysop). This way, we don't need to ask a steward any time we need to desysop per our policy on administrators! :) If you agree (or if not) go post at bugzilla:10727! :) Thanks, Cbrown1023 talk 01:33, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you're right. Less work for the stewards :-) But I hope it is allowed to have this extension :§ SPQRobin 10:01, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

import hz.wp

You could request "import" group on m:RfP to import the XML file you created. MF-Warburg 17:32, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think that is not the right way. As explained on m:Help:User rights, The devs have to change "import" to "importupload", as requested at bugzilla:10690. SPQRobin 17:46, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think on Wikimedia Projects the "import" GROUP (not the RIGHT) has the rights import and importupload. MF-Warburg 17:54, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, yes! You're right. Like on mediawiki.org, I see SPQRobin 17:55, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Do you request it now? I think m:Requests_for_permissions#Miscellaneous_requests is the right section. MF-Warburg 17:58, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
View Special:Import, you should be able to do it just by having sysop rights. Cbrown1023 talk 18:04, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, sysops c only have impport, but not importupload. 18:07, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Ah, I see now, in that case you are absolutey right. Do you think it would also be better if a few people had this right? Cbrown1023 talk 18:22, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
@MF-Warburg: I don't think the stewards can do that. Only devs can change that. If you wish, I can try requesting there. SPQRobin 19:00, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am almost positive that the stewards can do it. If the import group didn't exist on the wiki, then only devs could do it. But the group already exists at Special:Listusers/import, so stewards should be able to do it. Cbrown1023 talk 19:18, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it is so, devs must create the group, and stewards can give it. MF-Warburg 19:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

And the next to import is [9]. MF-Warburg 19:40, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have requested (at meta), that Robin and I get that permission so that he doesn't have to do it all himself. :) Cbrown1023 talk 20:10, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see, the import group is default on WMF projects. I thought it had to be installed first. Thanks to request it, Cbrown. I will set up a page Incubator:Coordination for importing closed projects. Ok? SPQRobin 20:24, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good. Cbrown1023 talk 21:16, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I mean that if you sign in the list I expect from you to do the same thing with MF-Warburg to give us important advice and if you know some greek to help us in choosing some articles to import if you want but mostly the first.

Ok, I will help. SPQRobin 08:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Meaning templates (mul.wikt)

Hello, Robin, thanks for your message. I'm sorry, I didn't understand what do you mean. This explains the usage of the definite article "the"; this explains the usage of the word "and" (I simply copied the text from english wiktionary); what's the difference between them? Thank you. --Tonyfroio 14:24, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks. (I think) I'm good at computing, but not too much. Why? --Tonyfroio 07:52, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, thanks. Should I change that template in old articles? Thanks,--Tonyfroio 13:58, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm a bit late, but that is not needed :-( This is the problem: bugzilla:10749. I asked to enable subpages in the template, category, and MediaWiki namespace, but now it doesn't work anymore in the main namespace. SPQRobin 20:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

SPQRobin 11:38, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flashmobbing

The http://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Incubator:Administrators page is currently attacked from newly created accounts, so this is a danger of mass vandalization of this page from tens or hundreds of newly created accunts with steriotypilcal "arguments". MF-Warburg, who tried to make something is currently abused in the ruwiki forum (they write about him that he is probably neonazi). I think something should be done to stop the mob. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 23:10, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've answered at User talk:MF-Warburg#Pauk. To hold the discussion etc together, please go to there. SPQRobin 00:11, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think some words in Russian are necessary. Actually many of them do not understand English well, they simply copy "oppose" (or words of others) because they want to support Pauk. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 13:46, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adminship question

Do I understnad it correct that the test sysop status in Incubator doesn't have anything to do with the user status in the project when it's out of Incubator? I.e., that the test sysop is not automatically entitled to any special status in the project once the project is released from Incubator? --BeautifulFlying 01:25, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know that, but here I see "If the request is successful, they will automatically be sysopped at their new wiki." SPQRobin 01:28, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
In reality, not always, for example I was not autosysopped in sibwiki when the request was succesful. --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 01:31, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is not automatically, you have to ask it. SPQRobin 01:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

SPQRobin 15:08, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ja, dat ben met je eens. -Markvondeegel 15:10, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think that's a good idea. They probably made their accounts for vandalism such as uploading etc. They're not here to do anything usefull. Unless you mean rename and block again. -Markvondeegel 10:20, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Is this really necessary? I don't think any wiki does this. And, we have a username blacklist (which has to be started yet). SPQRobin 11:12, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Many of them do it, one I can think of is Meta-Wiki. They do this for random usernames that are also mean to their subjects, like "Angela is a ho" or "Jimbo eats shit". You don't need to do it, but it is definitely done before and I will even fix our username blacklist for you. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 20:24, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are there enough speakers of that language? SPQRobin 11:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Mwah, I don't know exact numbers. I think about 500 flewent speakers (as User:MakkiTa and me) and about 2000 other people who can understand the language quit easy and speak some words (as User:Markvondeegel). SF-Language 11:59, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is an artificial language, I think. How is this language became popular? Where live the most speakers? (sorry, but I'm interested) SPQRobin 12:01, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I remember something on a regional channel on telvision (UK) in 1997 I believe and it were just 5 minutes or so and there was something about a conference and I went there and from that time I started to learn the language (from User:MakkiTa who also has written a part of the language) I really have no idea where most people live, but because it's written with Dutch, Danish and (british) English as example I think most people live in Western-Europe: Danmark, Germany, Sweden, UK, France, the Netherlands, Belgium etc. SF-Language 12:08, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks for the information, but I have to disappoint you if you would help translating, because you first need to have a Wikimedia project in that language. It's not a rule, but it's a technical restriction :-( You can still help with adding words, if you want to. SPQRobin 12:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if you disappointed me: now I've got more time to create Wp/art-da :) SF-Language 12:16, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Raar. --Ooswesthoesbes 14:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

About the New policy proposal

In the case mentioned below, the chapter TestAdmins may work out wrongly for a running test, which is rejected and has not yet made a new request for approval.

For that reason I would like to skip the requirements (apart from: >He has to be a good contributer to the test language<) in case a functioning administrator has to be replaced, e.g. for personal reasons. --Pyt 14:52, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I don't get what you mean with "In the case mentioned below" SPQRobin 15:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
In “Closure or deletion” your third point is: If it is rejected, the test will be kept for future proposals when the requirements are fullfilled.
In “TestAdmins” a proposed requirement is: The test language must have a request at Meta
So in a period between two requests, it would become impossible to replace the administrator of a test.--Pyt 16:01, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Or I can just change "The test language must have a request at Meta, so it is marked with {{open or conditional}}." to "The test language must have (or have had) a request at Meta, so it is marked with {{open or conditional}} or {{rejected}}." SPQRobin 17:14, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
That would meet the problem.--Pyt 17:32, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

WP pages

Hiya, with regard to your question, I'm looking forward to what the proposed project might need in terms of policies. Obviously each project ultimately develops a lot of its own standards. I'm not altogether familiar with how the incubator handles this, but it seems clear that some policies common on Wikipedia will be useful here, others may not. The project founders are familiar with Wikipedia, more than with the incubator and other projects, it seems. Maybe you can advise how it works? Thanks! FT2 17:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • bat-ltg
  • jpn-bungo
  • ko-kore
  • ru-old
  • ru-lat
  • surzh
  • vi-nom
  • wawa

-Markvondeegel 14:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Dat zou kunnen ja. Spijtig in ieder geval. SPQRobin 14:54, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nou, dat denk ik niet. Ze zijn toch geaccepteerd? De meeste doen 't trouwens best aardig w:nds-nl: bijvoorbeeld. -Markvondeegel 14:56, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
