Welcome to the Wikimedia Incubator! At the right there are some important links, and here are some tips and info:
- If you haven't created a user page yet, please create one with for example babel templates on it.
- You can select your interface language in your preferences.
- If you make articles, templates or categories, don't forget to add a prefix!
- If your knowledge of English is good, you can help with translating pages to other language you know, so more people can understand it!
- If you want to translate the interface, please go to Betawiki, create an account and follow the instructions you will see.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask it on my talk page.

¡Buenas!

Censo 2004 mew, almazan nien 5755 che -- Clerc 16:38, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
My apologies for such a long delay in responding to you. I'm fairly new to this and was not sure how to use Talk. Hope i'm doing the right thing. As it is, i tried to do some editing but seem to have made a mess of things. I'd appreciate it if you could make it right. There are still a lot of errors and inconsistencies but i'm hesitant to make any changes now.
With regard to the Spanish names, and other proper names, i've also been in a quandary as to how to treat them. I agree with the position that they should be rendered in Jamaican but at the same time i fear that they may not be recognizable. There are a few exceptions: Mikelanjelo is readily recognized as Michaelangelo. However, Lionaado da Vinchi and Yuohan Vulfgiang van Gieta may not be.
--Yocahuna 00:50, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
The translations would be, if we so decided to proceed:
* Palensia * Burgos * Siguovia * Avila * Salamangka * Zamuora * Valaduolid
Actually, these are not too unrecognizable since Spanish is phonetic to begin with.

You wrote: What's the translation of English? hIngglish or Ingglish? --Chabi 15:29, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
And Sandevaj replied: Good question. I am afraid I cannot give you a definite answer. The 'h' before words that begin with a vowel is used for emphasis, and to my knowledge is only used when writing prose, but is not a part of the noun itself. Yocahuna might disagree- I can't be too sure. I don't use it, because as I said, it's used mostly for emphasis, and is not always represented in speech- at least not at all times. --sandevaj 16:04, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Sandevaj is mostly correct, 'h' can be but is not only for emphasis. Jamaican has been up to now an oral language and placing an aspirate before words beginning with a vowel when the preceding word ends with a vowel is a feature of the language. The uncertainty expressed by Sandevaj stems from the fact that average speech switches readily from English to Jamaican and back so either form would be used. To establish an orthography that reproduces speech as faithfully as possible, i adopt the convention of using an italic 'h' with initial vowel words when they follow a vowel-ending word. 'Ingglish' standing on its own would have no 'h' but 'tuu hIngglish' would.

Chao! - Clerc 02:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi! No, I'm not a native speaker, though I've been studying/working with the language since 1996. Thank you for the offer of help, it would be of great help, even if it's just little things of putting a country or city template onto a page and sticking the flag/arms into the template, or photos. I've found that often, if I can't find a photo or flag or CoA on one wikipedia, another language version will have it. I've just started going through the list of suggested articles every Wp should have (though of course with some additions that are of "local" relevance to Votians/Votia). Thanks again! (If I could make a request for a template - could you make one for the subject entities of the Russian Federation? Thanks!) 2Q 09:41, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

I suppose that you also speak English. Now it's nearly ten years that I do not speak Gilbertese (even if I did not forget it). It's the language of my son, Tetaua. I do not live in the Kiribati. Hi, Chabi, I am very curious about this Plautdiestch: it sounds a lot like Plattdütsch. Where is it that people speak it, this day an age?
--Mondschein 16:24, 15 June 2009 Mondschein.
- --Mondschein 19:18, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- PS In Deutschland spricht man Plattdütsch schon, also in Niedersachsen, oder?
- Say, is Plautdiestch similar to "Pennsylvania Dutch", by any chance? May I ask you where you are from? I come from the US, from an area where there are a lot of Mennonites. I even have Mennonites in my family.
- See you soon,
- --Mondschein 20:27, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- PS In northern Germany, Niedersachsen, they speak Plattdütsch indeed.
- Where are you from then?

Next step for Mirandese WikipediaEdit
As I explained on my talk page, we need to contact someone. Please translate this text to Mirandese and/or a language he knows.
Hi, The Wikimedia Foundation has received a request for a new Wikipedia in the Mirandese language. A group of volunteers have worked hard to provide enough content for it to start. In the past we used to trust the language to be what it was said to be, but sadly this trust was abused. It is for this reason that I ask your cooperation. We have been informed that you are able to give us an objective assessment of the language used. We would like you to answer two questions. * Can you confirm that the texts are written in the Mirandese language, the definition of what we expect it to be is provided by Ethnologue * Can you tell us why you are in a position to affirm that it is Mirandese Thank you, language committee Wikimedia Foundation

Ruth Pfau, please!!!Edit
Hello Chabi, You asked me to write two articles in Punjabi Wikipedia on: 1. Catholic Church and 2. Book of Mormon. I have started them, Wp/pnb/کیتھولک چرچ,Wp/pnb/مورمن دی کتاب. More than 1% population of Punjabi speaking peoples are Catholic Christians. Article on catholic church needs special attention and I will tell some catholic Punjabi friend to expand it after normalisation. In return (haha!), please do me a favor by writing an article of mine from English wikipedia on Ruth Pfau[], she was a German Dr nun, intially she chose to go India but on restrictions there for chirstian missionaries, she opted Pakistan and Pakistan paid her back too for her services here by bestowing highest Awards/rewards to her. My request is a small gesture of response to her kindness. Please write about her in all the languages you know. --Khalid Mahmood 16:18, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

The Book of Mormon is a sacred text of the Latter-day Saint movement. It was first published in March 1830 by Joseph Smith, Jr. as The Book of Mormon: An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon Plates Taken from the Plates of Nephi. The plates, Smith said, had been buried in a hill near his home in Manchester, New York, where he found them by the guidance of an angel, a resurrected ancient American prophet-historian named Moroni.
