hahkamuchitohtaya

edit

new contemporary changes to bread things! anything made from corn will explicitly have hahka - anything not made from corn (rather, flour) will be simply muchi. so 'dough' here should be muchitohtaya Rjmoore221 (talk) 15:51, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

dysentery!

edit

1. what's going on with the articular ta-? should we keep it here or actually possess it as an inalienable noun?

2. [disease name] + impersonal Tishlina ya- = lapun? Rjmoore221 (talk) 16:02, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

The current formulation for the name comes from Gatschet-Swanton, "Performance of Tonika shamans." Swanton transcribes it from Gatschet as "taxshkiru´pa mi´li."
The other alternative we suggested was to possess the "shki." I like the option with the "ta" because it allows the ailment to be talked about more generally (and it appears to have some precedent in the language). But the group should ultimately decide.
