Diacritics edit

I intend to give more clarifications on the notation, terminology, and foreign name transcriptions of this page soon. Omnipaedista 05:08, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clarifications: Terminology: Talk:Wp/grc/Θετόν; Notation: w:en:Category theory; Name Transcription is per Allen's reconstruction of Ancient Greek Phonology (Allen, William Sidney: Vox Graeca: A guide to the pronunciation of Classical Greek. Cambridge University Press 1987). In order to render some foreign sounds I added some diacritics; ': w:en:Palatalization, ʽ w:en:Glottal Stop and w:en:Ejective consonants, ʼ w:en:Elision (Ecthlipsis) and/or w:en:Crasis. Note: in this particular article I didn't use the daseia (δασεῖα) breathing in Ρ,ρ-/Υ,υ-beginning words that are unaspirated modern foreign surnames. Omnipaedista 16:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
