Module:Wp/kjp/Location map is a location map definition used to overlay markers and labels on an [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/equirectangular projection|equirectangular projection]] map of the United States. The markers are placed by [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/latitude|latitude]] and [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/longitude|longitude]] coordinates on the default map or a similar map image.

Usage

These definitions are used by the following templates when invoked with parameter "Location map":

Map definition

• name =

  Name used in the default map caption

• image = [[:File:|]]

  The default map image, without "Image:" or "File:"

• image1 = [[:File:|]]

  An alternative map image, usually a relief map, which can be displayed via the relief or AlternativeMap parameters

• image2 = [[:File:|]]
• image3 = [[:File:|]]
• image4 = [[:File:|]]

  Alternative map images which can be displayed via the AlternativeMap parameter

• top =

  [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/Latitude|Latitude]] at top edge of map, in [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/decimal degrees|decimal degrees]]

• bottom =

  Latitude at bottom edge of map, in decimal degrees

• left =

  [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/Longitude|Longitude]] at left edge of map, in decimal degrees

• right =

  Longitude at right edge of map, in decimal degrees

• x =

  An expression to calculate a location on the map via its [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/longitude|longitude]]; evaluates as 0 along the left edge and 100 along the right edge

• y =

  An expression to calculate a location on the map via its [[||Wp/mnw/Location map/data/latitude|latitude]]; evaluates as 0 along the top edge and 100 along the bottom edge

• mark = [[:File:|]] ([[File:||8px]])

  The default mark image to display with this map. This can be overridden by the mark parameter in Template:Wp/kjp/Location map, which would otherwise default to Red pog.svg ().

• marksize =

  The default mark size (in [[||Wp/kjp/Location map/data/pixel|pixel]]s) for the mark image displayed with this map (should not include px, for example marksize=, not marksize=px). This can be overridden by the marksize parameter in Template:Wp/kjp/Location map, which would otherwise default to 8.

Alternative map

The {{Wp/kjp/Location map}}, {{Wp/kjp/Location map many}}, and {{Wp/kjp/Location map+}} templates have parameters to specify an alternative map image. The map displayed as image1 can be used with the relief or AlternativeMap parameters. The maps displayed as image2 / image3 / image4 can be used with the AlternativeMap parameter.
