Bahasa Indonesia: Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu merupakan taman nasional yang mencakup kawasan hutan di Gunung Merbabu. Secara administratif, taman nasional ini termasuk ke dalam wilayah 3 (tiga) kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Boyolali, Kabupaten Magelang, dan Kabupaten Semarang, provinsi Jawa Tengah.
Kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Merbabu ditunjuk berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan No. 135/Menhut-II/2004 tanggal 4 Mei 2004 tentang perubahan fungsi kawasan hutan lindung dan taman wisata alam pada kelompok hutan Merbabu seluas 5.725 hektare. Kawasan ini dinilai penting sebagai sumber mata air bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitarnya. Selain itu, kawasan hutan Merbabu juga merupakan habitat flora dan fauna yang dilindungi dan dilestarikan. Sistem pengelolaan taman nasional yang diterapkan diharapkan mampu untuk melestarikan dan mengembangkan kawasan konservasi ini sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. |
