Summary
DescriptionMaules Ck.jpg
English: The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage described Leard State Forest as having “irreplaceable, ecologically unique values, including the highest quality remnant patch of grassy woodland on the heavily-cleared Liverpool Plains.” The offset area agreed in the approval of the Maules Creek coal mine does not support the critically endangered woodland the mine will clear, the mapping of the offsets by the proponent has been shown to be incorrect, and there are no areas available in the landscape that could replace or offset the “irreplaceable” and “unique” forest that will be cleared under the approval.
