unten rechts in Gold einen roten Schrägrechtsbalken, belegt mit drei gestümmelten silbernen Adlern,
unten links in Schwarz einen rotgekrönten, rotbewehrten goldenen Löwen.“

Das Wappen des Historischen Vereins für die Saargegend von 1856, das mit nur marginalen Varianten (es fehlen z.B. die silbernen Kreuze) die vier selben Teilwappen benutzte, allerdings in anderer Anordnung, diente dem Landesarchiv Saarbrücken als Vorlage.
