Tests in this category are characterized as "history" in {{Test wiki/validcode}}, corresponding to the ISO 639 language types "Extinct", "Ancient" and "Historic".

• Formally, per WMF's Language proposal policy, projects in these languages (other than Wikisource projects) are unlikely to be approved by the Language Committee.

  This may be evolving to some extent, particularly for Wikipedia projects in languages with a well-established literature and writing system. Other types of projects, and projects in languages without established writing systems, are still unlikely to be approved.
