Name rendering

Χαίρειν. How would Thales render "Baker"? Βαίηκερ? Βείκερ? I first tried Βαίκερ as he would not have pronounced it too badly that way... But my sense is the present rendering is more helpful to Modern Greek phonology than to Ancient Greek. Cuzkatzimhut 17:24, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
